Rental Agreement Terms
All vehicle rentals with Woodley Car Hire are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, provided at the time of booking or vehicle pickup. This agreement outlines essential terms, conditions, insurance information, associated fees, and your obligations for the rental. In case of any discrepancies between this Terms of Service and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a Vehicle with Woodley
- To rent a vehicle from Woodley Car Hire, drivers must be at least 21 years old, although additional restrictions apply for certain vehicle types, with extra fees for those under 25. A valid driving licence for the appropriate vehicle category must be held for the minimum period stated in the Rental Agreement. Renters must present valid identification, proof of address, and provide payment details along with a security deposit. Additional criteria may be outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payments
- Reservations for car hire can be made via our website, over the phone, or at our Woodley office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The full rental fee and a security deposit are required upon vehicle pickup. All charges are quoted in British Pounds (£) and include applicable VAT. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment platforms.
4. Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is your responsibility to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be created and signed to document this assessment. Upon returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as when it was collected, allowing for normal wear and tear. Any new damages will be evaluated and additional charges may apply. The vehicle must be returned with the same level of fuel as at the start of the rental; refueling fees will be imposed if the vehicle is returned with less fuel. Late returns may result in extra charges, so please notify us promptly if you anticipate being late. You are accountable for any parking tickets, traffic violations, or charges incurred during the rental period, along with an administration fee.
5. Liability and Coverage
- All rentals from Woodley include basic third-party insurance. Comprehensive coverage details and excess amounts are outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to help limit your financial liability. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You will be accountable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless covered by extra insurance. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, irrespective of insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies depend on the type of booking and the notice provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- The vehicle must not be used for illegal purposes or activities such as racing, rallying, or off-roading. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. The vehicle should only be used as intended, adhering to passenger and weight limits. Driving outside the agreed geographical area requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Woodley Car Hire will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, that may result from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims is limited to the amount you paid for the rental in the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability arising from negligence leading to death or personal injury, or in cases of fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
10. Terms Update Notification
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting on our website. Your continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
